Mainland power is an Independent Power Plant (IPP) Project, expected to guarantee uninterrupted power supply to key government agencies and public environments.
The plant runs on a combination of environmentally friendly natural gas via pipeline links from Gaslink Nigeria Limited's existing gas distribution grid and backup generators driven by diesel. With natural gas producing 5.8MW of the 8.8MW capacity.
The plant is built via a Public Private Partnership (PPP) between Mainland Power Limited (IPL) and the Lagos State Government (LASG), with CETPower as a major partner in Mainland Power Limited.
